Getting started
Cross stitch is beginner-friendly. You need: Aida fabric, DMC floss, a needle, and a hoop.
The basic stitch
Each cross stitch is two diagonal stitches forming an X. Always make the top stitch go in the same direction for a neat finish.
Reading a pattern
Each square = one cross stitch. Colors shown by symbols with DMC thread numbers. Start from the center and work outward.
Finishing
Wash gently in cold water, press face-down on a towel, and frame while slightly damp.
