The banner

The first time you visit, a short banner asks what you'd like to allow. Until you choose, nothing but the strictly necessary cookie is set — analytics stays switched off. Whatever you decide, you can change your mind at any moment using the button at the bottom of this page.

The two categories

Strictly necessary — always on

These make the site work and can't be switched off. Right now there is exactly one: the cookie that remembers your answer to the banner, so you aren't asked again on every page.

Analytics — only if you agree

Google Analytics 4, which tells me which pages are read, roughly which countries visitors come from and which articles are worth writing more of. It's switched off by default and only starts once you accept. I see totals, never individual people.

A note on language. Your language choice isn't stored in a cookie at all — it lives in the address of the page (/uk/ for Ukrainian, no prefix for English), so switching languages leaves nothing behind in your browser.

The cookies used on this site

That's the complete list. If I ever add a security or performance layer (such as Cloudflare) or embedded content (a YouTube video, a map, an Instagram feed), this page will be updated first and any new non-essential cookie will be added to the banner before it can load.

Changing or withdrawing your consent

  • Here: use the button below to reopen the banner and change your choice.
  • In your browser: every browser lets you view, delete and block cookies in its settings. Deleting the consent cookie simply means you'll be asked again on your next visit.
  • For Google Analytics specifically: Google offers a browser add-on that blocks it on every site you visit.

Cookie settings

What this site doesn't do

No advertising cookies. No retargeting pixels, no Meta pixel, no Pinterest tag. No cross-site tracking, no profiles, no data sold to anyone. The banner is short because there genuinely isn't much to ask about.
